Campaign Priorities

STUDENT SUCCESS CHANGES THE WORLD
A degree in pharmacy can launch a student’s success in life, lift up an entire family and impact the quality of life for whole communities. Yet, many first-generation students and students from underserved areas need encouragement and support to pursue a degree in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences. Other students worry that financial debt will make it impossible for them to pursue careers serving public health needs in medically under-resourced communities.

DYNAMIC AND DIVERSE FACULTY DRIVE STUDENT SUCCESS, INNOVATION, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The School of Pharmacy faculty is the dynamic force through which our graduates, residents, and fellows gain superior technical knowledge and abilities, and learn power skills – teamwork, communication, leadership, and critical thinking. Our faculty connect students and graduates with industries around the state, throughout the country, and abroad. And, they have contributed to exponential growth of external research funding to the School of Pharmacy – reaching its highest level in four years in 2017-18, with more than $134 million in sponsored research funding awarded.

INCLUSIVE AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING AND RESEARCH SPACES
Labs and classrooms must evolve to spur collaborations that enrich learning and ignite innovative research. The swift introduction of new technology demands that spaces evolve just as rapidly. For example, thanks to a Major Research Instrumentation award from the National Science Foundation, the School of Pharmacy was able to purchase equipment essential to innovative materials development research. The Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation can detect changes in mass at the molecular level using a quartz crystal, which registers minuscule deviations in frequencies and loss of energy. Many pieces of leading-edge equipment require changes in our environment.

TRANSFORMATIVE PROGRAMS
Now and Ever: The Campaign for Ole Miss is a catalyst for programs which will transform the way teaching and learning take place by funding new experiences which promote entrepreneurship, new product development and student success through hands on learning, experiential education, and connections to industry.

CENTERS
The Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established to discover and disseminate knowledge of natural drug products, develop and commercialize new products, improve public health, and stimulate the economy. The Institute includes five Centers: The National Center for Natural Products Research, The Pii Center for Pharmaceutical Technology, The Center for Pharmaceutical Marketing and Managemen, The Center for Clinical and Translational Science & National Center for Cannabis Research and Education.
